President's Message February 2025

The excitement is everywhere as Super Bowl teams and fans start arriving here in the Crescent City. There are parades, light shows, interactive fan events, and more leading up to the main event on Sunday.  And, although the main focus is on the game, many of us are just as excited about seeing the half time show!

In 1993, Guinness World Records named the broadcast of Michael Jackson’s halftime show as the most watched television event of all time in the United States, and it continues to be considered among the greatest Super Bowl halftime shows of all time. The performance was bold and innovative and set the course for the show becoming the spectacle it is today.

When was the last time you became bold and innovative in your work? Is there a particular event you created that became part of the signature series for your office or a new program that alumni embraced and look forward to every year? If it has been a while since you tried something new, I encourage you to take some inspiration from that performance and take a walk outside of your comfort zone. You might just change the status quo for all of us!
