President's Message July 2026 As alumni career services professionals, we spend nearly every day of the year advising others on how to network, pivot, upskill, manage burnout, and navigate the evolving job market. But when was the last time you updated your own career roadmap? What skills do you need to acquire to stay relevant as the workplace changes? Many of us - myself included - are currently navigating organizational restructures, shifting administrative priorities, and shrinking budgets. Burnout is a very real challenge in our field, even when we deeply love the work we do. This month, I challenge you to think about how you can use our upcoming annual conference to invest in your own career, and not just your institution’s metrics. I look forward to seeing many of you at Duke later this month! Please seek me out to share your thoughts, or if you aren’t able to attend, feel free to email your reflections to me at [email protected]. In solidarity, |
