President's Message May 2026

We have made it to May – a season of transition. In higher education, it’s a time of hard-earned celebration as students officially become the newest members of our alum communities. But as the caps are tossed and the ceremonies end, the real work of engagement begins.

If you find recent grads to be your most challenging demographic to reach, you aren't alone. Data tells us their philanthropic interests lean toward social justice and grassroots movements, yet their most vocal request from us is for career support.

This is where we shine; but the execution isn't always easy. Are they showing up for the programs you build for them? What are they actually looking for in their first-year post-grad? I’d love to hear the unfiltered truth – successes and failures alike. How are you helping your newest alums find their footing? Feel free to share your thoughts and experiences  with me at [email protected]

In solidarity,
Kate
