President's Message November 2025
In October, I invited you to reflect on personal support systems - the people who remind us of our strengths when we need it most. As the seasons change, I want to shift that reflection toward our professional support system: this organization.
We know that no alumni career services professional can thrive in isolation. Each of us face similar challenges - from justifying budget requests to staying current on rapidly changing technology and workforce trends, to being an office of one or two folks. The collective strength of our membership is our greatest resource.
I'm incredibly grateful for the members who stepped up this past year who:
- took the time to contribute program and job description examples to the repositories
- shared best practices and strategies during our roundtable discussions
- or simply showed up in support of a fellow ACS professional
This isn't just a membership organization; it's a dynamic, reciprocal exchange of expertise that elevates the entire profession. As our Chair of Membership, Paul Pausky, loves to remind me in our monthly board and committee meetings - we are a network.
As we start to look toward 2026, I invite each of you to recommit to this principle of mutual support. Please reflect on how you can share your knowledge in the year ahead. Maybe this includes submitting a presentation/ webinar proposal, uploading a job description or program template, or simply participating in one of our roundtable discussions. When we share our best practices, we all move forward. Thank you for being a vital thread in the fabric of this community.
In solidarity, Kate
