President's Message October 2025
Throughout my career, I've had my share of self-doubt and imposter syndrome. As a first-generation college student, it was especially easy to feel lost and like I had to figure things out on my own. But I've learned a crucial lesson: I don't have to carry burdens - personal or professional - by myself.
I'm incredibly grateful for the support system I've built. It's made up of friends, colleagues, and mentors who celebrate my wins and help me brainstorm through my failures. They consistently remind me not to discount my success and that perfectionism is an unrealistic goal.
This month, I invite you to reflect on your own circle. Who do you lean on when you feel self-doubt, and how do you remind others of their competence when they feel inadequate? Remember all the things you do well, and take a moment to understand what triggers your own self-doubt. By acknowledging your strengths, you can better navigate those moments of insecurity.
In solidarity, Kate
